SREČAnje (Meeting someone)

SREČAnje project wants to teach young people critical assessment of unverified information and the importance of each person's right to a decent life, to enable them to experience personal contact with people who are not accustomed and often a target of prejudice and intolerance, and to train them to spread the values ​​of respectfor each person, tolerance and solidarity in community.

KEY ACTIVITIES 

 1. PHASE = TO KNOW

Is it really enough to hear about, to read, to assume? When we build respect, raise understanding and promote tolerance, it is always necessary to start with yourself - how much and what I really know, where I need to experience honesty for myself and others and learn more, so that I can open the way to the understanding of others and mutual differences, with whom I meet at every step.

3 seminars - 250 participants - 8 h

2. PHASE = TO EXPERIENCE

Get into an unknown, feeling uncertain, perhaps misrepresenting. Experience the way without behaviour, what is waiting for you on the goal. Service = do something good for someone and nothing to expect in return. Participants will meet with themselves, with others in the group, and with people or people who need their help.

3. PHASE = TO UNDERSTAND

Tolerance - Compassionate listening - Hate speech - Culture of dialogue - Critical and creative thinking

5 workshops - 250 participants

4. PHASE = TO DO

A guided reflection in which participants will gain knowledge, experience and understanding, and propose creative solutions to address topics in volunteer work with children and young people. They will also receive material for further awareness of children and young people with whom they work all year in their local youth groups.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Objective 1: To teach young people critical assessment of unverified information and the importance of each person's right to a decent life.

Expected result: Participants of the project, through self-evaluation, will be aware of the importance of respecting human rights.

Objective 2: To enable young people to experience personal contact with people who are not accustomed and often target prejudices and intolerance.

Expected result: Based on their personal experience, project participants are able to better understand others and their life situations.

Objective 3: Train youth leaders to spread the values ​​of respect for every person, tolerance and solidarity in society.

TARGET PUBLIC

Primary target public are youth leaders between 18 and 29 years old, who, as volunteers, work with children and young people (6-21 years). Mostly, students, employees, some are also unemployed.
